Elementary Celebrates Read Across America Week!
Northwestern elementary students celebrated Read Across America week March 4-7 with a variety of activities.
Monday: I’m not Going to Get up Today—Pajama Day
Tuesday: The Cat in the Hat—Hat Day
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday—Mismatch Day
Thursday: Green Eggs and Ham—Green Day
Rhonda Borchard from American Bank and Trust donated pizza to the elementary for meeting their Read Across America reading goal while the Northwestern Community Foundation supplied Powerade bottles left over from pop shots.
School board members and high school students from Mrs. Nora Groft’s English classes took turns reading their favorite childhood books to the students in grades kindergarten through second grade.
