Northwestern Science Fair

By Jensyn Siebrecht

Northwestern School held its annual science fair Feb. 28. Middle school and high school students start their projects in October, researching, experimenting, and writing the papers with a discussion paper, background paper, and research plan. They present their boards and binders to the judges with an abstract that sums up their project.

Science teachers Mrs. Tamra Haven and Mrs. Denise Clemens work to get people from the community to judge the students’ projects, while also having the seniors who decided not to do a project judge a few as well.

Those who get 1st or 2nd get the honor of going on to the Northern State University Science Fair on March 21.
