The Veterans Day program at Northwestern started with a welcome by senior Student Council President Tyanne Osterkamp and a posting of the colors by Mr. Rozell's fifth-grade class with Ava Paulson carrying the flag and junior Cole Caulder playing the snare drum.

Junior Joshua Thorson sang "The Star-Spangled Banner." Middle schoolers Noah Grenier and Anneliese Holsing read the poems "Why Do They Fight?" by Blue Butterfly and "We Honor You Today" by Susan R. Smith, respectively. Then the middle school choir, under the direction of Mrs. Jessica Cihak, sang "The Brave" by John Riggio.

Superintendent and veteran Mr. Rob Lewis served as the guest speaker. He gave an insightful speech on what it means to be a veteran.
