NORTHWESTERN AREA FALL PRESCHOOL SCREENING
We will be screening 3 year olds and any other children that may have developmental concerns on Wednesday, November 8th. This will include any child who will be three years old on or before November 8, 2023. Any four year olds that were not screened last year are also encouraged to be screened at this time. Screenings will take place in the elementary school. Please stop at the pre-registration table in the Elementary Resource Room when you arrive. Parents will wait in this area until the completion of their child’s screening.

All children who will be in the 2024-2025 Kindergarten class will be screened for Kindergarten readiness during our Spring screening on February 23, 2024.
Children will be screened in gross and fine motor skills, general concepts, and communication skills. Early identification of difficulties can help alleviate health or educational problems, which may develop during a child’s education. The Lions will also be here to do vision screenings.
This is a FREE service provided by the school district. The screenings take approximately an hour.
If you are interested in having your child screened, please contact Jessica Halvorson at 887-3467 x1001 or e-mail jessica.halvorson@k12.sd.us between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (at least 14 days before the screening) to make an appointment. After appointments have been received, letters will be sent to each family of who has called and made an appointment to verify their time slot.
